Located at the skirts of the mountain range of Pindos, 2 hours from the main capital, at the Central Greece, Nafpaktos is the second most populated town in Aitoloakarnania. The small picturesque Venetian port, the castle with the big clock and the admirable suspended Bridge of Rion- Antirion compose an idyllic image, a perfect location for those who wish to combine indulgence with the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Nafpaktos owns its name to the words “nafs” and “pignimi”, which stands for ship construction. The Dorians used Nafpaktos in order to manufacture rafts, therefore Nafpaktos remains a heritage. The historical evidence that we have, come from more than 3000 years ago, and they are continuous in all periods. The most important event of that historical trip has been the sea battle of Lepanto on the 7th of October 1571, between the Europeans and the Ottomans, in which the former conquered.

Last but not least Nafpaktos constitutes the gate of a heavenly world with virgin natural environment, the mountainous countryside of Nafpaktia.
